Investing in young talent means investing in the future of shipbuilding. Recently, San Giorgio del Porto S.p.A. had the pleasure of welcoming second-year Master's students in Naval Engineering for a day of on-site training. This visit coincided with the final series of lessons for their professional courses, completing a programme that had previously seen our shipyard involved in university classroom sessions.
During their visit, the students had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the activities of the shipyard's key departments: from the Technical Office to Production, passing through Quoting and Quality Control. They made direct contact with the organisation and daily challenges of a complex and continuously evolving industrial reality.
The day concluded with a guided tour of the Mechanical Workshop and the temporary shipyard at Calata Boccardo, where construction of the new SG 116 unit is currently underway.
We believe in the value of shared knowledge. For this reason, San Giorgio del Porto, also with the support of Gruppo Genova Industrie Navali S.p.A., continues to invest determinedly in dialogue with the University, helping to train today the professionals who will lead shipbuilding tomorrow.
